5 Homemade Hair Masks for Hair Growth and Thickness

Did you prepare your hair for summer? No, it’s ok. Don’t worry. These 5 homemade hair masks will help you fix the hair problems you’re facing. Dry hairs look very dull, and the main problem is that it’s very hard to manage them, and they break easily.

There is a huge range of drugstore hair masks, but why do you buy them if you make a fantastic hair mask with less than three ingredients at home?

I tried all of these hair masks on my hair, and they really go well. They moisturize my hair and give it a nice shine. Last month, my hair strands became a bit dry, so I decided to try all of my favourite hair masks, which resulted in a significant improvement in my hair quality. They are soft and simple to manage.

Homemade Hair Masks for Dry Hair

1. Banana and Whole Milk Hair Mask

Are you fed up with split ends? Then this hair mask is just right for you, as bananas are rich in vitamins and natural oils, so they help prevent hair breakage and split ends. Whole milk helps with hair loss and dandruff, as well as making your hair soft and silky.

I know it sounds like a milkshake, but it’s a hair mask. Take two bananas and a half cup of whole milk. Blend them. You can add olive oil, but it’s just optional. Make sure there are no lumps in this hair mask. Apply this to your scalp and all over your hair; wait for about 30 minutes, then wash it off with water. After that, shampoo your hair with a mild shampoo.

2. Honey, Yoghurt, and Flaxseed Oil or Baby Oil Hair Mask

Honey is a moisturising agent, and yoghurt is a probiotic, so ingredients are important. Yoghurt provides nutrients and extra moisture to our hair; it also helps to repair and improve hair growth, but remember not to use honey too much as it lightens hair, so use it in moderation.

Take one tablespoon of honey and two tablespoons of full-fat yoghurt, and add flaxseed oil or baby oil. Apply this mask to damp hair from roots to ends, and let it stay for 40 minutes. After that, wash your hair with warm water and use a milk shampoo.

3. Mayonnaise and Strawberry Hair Mask

Confused? Don’t be. I am aware that mayonnaise is a staple in salads and sandwiches, but did you know that it also contains eggs and vinegar? Many hair masks incorporate these ingredients, ensuring that damp hair receives a nice shine and volume from the mayonnaise. You can use it alone or with strawberries, as strawberries are rich in Vitamin C, so it’s perfect for dry hair.

Take half a cup of mayonnaise and 4 to 5 strawberries, blend them perfectly, and make sure there are no lumps left. Now apply this to your scalp and all over your hair. Let it stay for 40 minutes, then wash it off with warm water and use a mild shampoo.

4. Olive oil and yoghurt hair mask

Olive oil and yoghurt have both been used for centuries for beautiful hair; olive oil is used in many hair and skin remedies, and it has moisturising properties, so it moisturises dry hair completely and also gives strength to the roots. You can also add flaxseed oil or baby oil if you want more soft and silky hairs.

First of all, damp your hair, then mix all the ingredients, like one tablespoon olive oil, 2 to 3 tablespoons yoghurt, and half a tablespoon flaxseed oil or baby oil. Mix them perfectly. Now, apply this hair mask to the hair from the roots to the tip. Please wait for 30 to 35 minutes, then wash it off.

5. Egg and apple cider vinegar hair mask

Eggs? Indeed, eggs, despite their unpleasant odor, are a staple in many protein treatments, making them perfect for dry and damaged hair. If the smell bothers you, you can also use egg oil. I am using apple cider vinegar in this mask because it makes my hair stronger, softer, and more shiny.

As my recommendation, I love this mask for all the reasons given above. As a result, the mask makes my hair feel heavier and has a nice bouncy effect.

Take 1 or 2 eggs, depending on your hair length, and mix them with 1 or 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. Mix them properly and apply to damp hair. Wait for an hour. After that, wash your hair with warm water and use a mild shampoo that clears the egg smell.
